Are We in a Hurricane?

This morning we got up and went to Tim Hortons in Clifton Hill for breakfast. We then headed to the Hornblower Niagara Cruise. We got to wear red raincoats! It was a little chilly, but not too bad. We went past the American Falls and headed into the Horseshoe Falls. The wind started to pick up and the mist turned into water being thrown at us. We could hardly see anything! We were getting really wet and it became really cold! My dad and I pretended we were weathermen in the middle of a hurricane! On the way back, the wind was blowing really hard and I thought my hands were going to freeze off! However, we survived the boat ride!! It was really cool, but I think it would probably be more enjoyable when it’s warmer.

After the boat ride, we went back to our hotel to change out of our wet clothes. We then headed back to the US across the Rainbow Bridge. Border Control wasn’t too bad, except my dad told the man we went on holiday and he didn’t understand what that meant. Haha! We went to the viewing platform where the Maid of the Mist departs on the American side to see the American Falls.

We then headed to the Hard Rock Cafe, NY to have lunch and collect my shot glass! We also did a little souvenir shopping. Then we drove over to Goat Island and walked to the viewing platform on Luna Island. Luna Island is between the American Falls and the Bridal Falls. It was scary! You could look over the side and see the water fall to the bottom of the falls! I made me dad hold my arm while I took pictures to make sure I wouldn’t fall over the fence! haha! We then walked over to Terrapin Point to see the Horseshoe Falls from the American side. Unfortunately, they are currently doing construction and we were unable to get close to the Horseshoe Falls.

We then started the journey home. We came back on the American side and were able to see the Niagara River and the Peace Bridge that we crossed over yesterday. We went back through Pennsylvania and then back into Ohio. We had dinner at Outback Steakhouse in Canton, Ohio and then did some shopping. We arrived back in New Concord around 9:30 PM. We had a great short weekend in Niagara Falls!
