Mississippi River Walkin’

Today we left St. Louis around 10am. On our way to Memphis, we drove through Arkansas! That was pretty cool.

We arrived in Memphis around 1pm. We went straight to the Hard Rock Cafe and got my shot glass. After that, we walked around and saw a statue of Elvis Presley and a statue of W.C. Handy.

Then we drove over to a place called Mud Island and went to an attraction called the Riverwalk. It is a scale-model of the Mississippi River. It was really cool! You could walk all the way from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico along the scale version of the Mississippi River. The model even had running water! It also had some great vantage points of the REAL Mississippi River!

After walking along the Riverwalk, we headed to our hotel in Alabama. We decided to stay there to break up the long drive from Memphis to Atlanta, GA. On our way, we passed through Mississippi and Alabama. We left Memphis around  5pm and arrived in a town about 15 miles east of Birmingham, Alabama around 8pm. We’re off to Atlanta tomorrow! 5 down, 4 to go!
